Granny Square, Granny Square, Granny Square!

About a week ago I decided I need to start coming up with more original patterns for my works and this granny square is the end result. Its fairly simple and basically just consists of shells and v-stitches.

The pink and blue one was the first square I made and the other is the second square I made.

I was surprised how easy it was to come up with a square of my own once you get the hang of where to make your corners. I hope to make a blanket with my new square soon :) Wish me luck! I will definitely update again with my progress on the blanket.

Rows 3 – 6: Repeat row 2.
Fasten Off. (Leave a few inches of yarn hanging to sew the ends together)

Fold your work in half then with a yarn needle; sew both ends of your work together.

Now pull your yarn through and tighten to make the bow, then wrap your yarn around the center a few times and tie off.

This should be your end result.

You could finish your bow off here if you want, or you could continue on with this tutorial and create the center piece for the bow.

Bow Center
With Color B; Ch 9, turn.
Row 1: Sc in each st across (8 sc)
Repeat Row 1 one more time.
Fasten off. (Remember to leave enough excess yarn to sew the ends together)

Now position your center piece in the middle of your bow and sew it together. Weave in all ends.

To add a hair accessory to the back just hot glue a barrette clip to the back and you’re done.
